The International Mission Board, through its workers tasked with sharing the good news among refugees displaced in the Middle East and Europe, is starting a pilot project teaching ESL over ten weeks. The project goal is to use the teaching of ESL as a method to develop relationships among refugees that will allow our workers to share the good news in an appropriate manner.
The pilot project will be in Eastern Europe from April to June 2017. The ESL will be taught by teachers in relay with each teacher handling two or more weeks of instruction. The project leaders, Jim and Susan Austin, are looking for individuals or couples willing to participate. The evaluation of the pilot project’s success may lead to additional ESL courses being offered during the summer/fall of 2017.
